Welcome!

Laura & Brad: Elopement at Biltmore Estate in Asheville

Filed in: Weddings

A couple of months ago, I received an email from one of my sweet vendor friends (looking at you Katelynn!) asking if I was available for a weekday wedding. Her friends were wanting to have engagement photos in Charleston (yes!), and then eloping (yes!!) at BILTMORE (YES!!). How could I say no to that?! As if it couldn’t get any better, Laura and Brad are two of the kindest, most charming, adorably-in-love people I have had the pleasure to meet. I’m so thankful we were brought together for such a special day in their lives.

I remember the details from all of my weddings, but this one in particular will forever stay on my heart. Not only did I get to be their photographer and enjoy walking through the grounds of Biltmore for hours without a timeline to worry about (how often does that happen?!), but we also got to play other important roles. This was a private elopement, so there was no family, no wedding party, no reception full of guests. That said, my husband came to assist me that day, and we were asked to serve as witnesses for Laura and Brad. Bradley also manned the iPad to video their ceremony for friends and family to view later, and I even had the honor of zipping Laura into her dress. Having clients that trust me that much brings tears to my eyes. I say it often, but it is truly an honor to be a part of each and every special moment like this.

Laura and Brad, your day was absolutely magical. Thank you SO much for sharing it with us.

Laura’s mother made an ancestry book filled with portraits and family history. It was incredible, and must have taken years to put together. Laura found her favorite photos of her grandparents to use for a few special ring photos. I love this one below.
