Lauren & Bryan: Eloped at Caesar’s Head

Filed in: Elopements

Of course, y’all know I love big weddings and all that comes with it: the beautiful bridesmaids, the lush florals, the perfectly planned details, and the dance party! But, I have to admit that elopements are quickly stealing my heart too.

Lauren and Bryan planned an intimate celebration of their marriage with 10 of their closest friends and family. She started the day by getting ready with her 3 nieces and best friend at Hotel Domestique. If you haven’t seen or been to this gorgeous hotel, just imagine an Italian villa filled with modern, swanky decor that’s right at the foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It’s basically a photographer’s dream!

The morning ceremony took place at Caesar’s Head State Park; Lauren’s nieces served as flower girls and her brother officiated. The vows were quick, but the memory of standing in that spot looking out at such a beautiful view as they promised their  lives to each other will last forever. We headed off for some quick photos afterwards while their friends put up some decorations and got the cake ready. It was the most quaint and charming little reception I’ve ever seen, and I loved being a part of it.

Lauren and Bryan, thank you for sharing this special morning with me and I hope these photos bring back memories to last a lifetime!
Lauren had planned an elaborate surprise for Bryan: a cake made in the style of his favorite car. She said she has known for years that she was going to do this for him on their wedding day. I can’t believe she kept it secret from him for that long!  After cake, Lauren and Bryan were going to take a drive through the mountains. I asked them to come back down to Bald Rock with me for a few more portraits…I’m so glad they agreed! Even though the sun was straight overhead, the views cannot be beat.
