This Huguenot Mill wedding was a breath of fresh air in a super busy season. Sweet, simple, and intentional is how I would describe it. Kate and Phillip did things a bit more traditional with their wedding by choosing to forgo a giant wedding party. Her maid of honor was her sister and his best man was his brother. They wanted to focus more on beautiful portraits with their families than lots of wedding party combinations. They kept their guest list small as well in order to spend time with each person there.
Kate was also very thoughtful with the pieces she included in her wedding day. Her mother and grandmother wore this same small brooch on their wedding dresses, and her sister attached it on her bouquet. Kate chose to pin it on the lace portion of the dress, which was also taken from her mother’s dress. Y’all know I love heirloom pieces, so this generational piece of jewelry made me so happy to see.
Overall, this day was such a delight and so meaningful too. Kate and Phillip, I hope it was everything you envisioned as well! Enjoy some of my favorites from this Huguenot Mill wedding!
You’d never know it from these pictures, but there was a monsoon rainstorm that came through during their ceremony. I’ll admit, I was a bit panicked because we had not done their portraits yet and I wasn’t sure how long it was going to rain. But it left as quickly as it came, and thankfully the warm weather dried the ground enough to take their bride and groom portraits! We were so blessed with the perfect timing!
