Alicia and Derek lived in the same dorm during their sophomore year in college in Massachusetts, and met through mutual friends. After dating for a year, they both transferred schools in different states. It was at this time that they decided to take a break, but in the end they kept in touch and eventually reunited for a date. It was then that they both knew this one was for keeps.

On the night of the proposal, they planned to go into Boston for dinner and ice skating, something they did when first dating. Alicia said it was freezing that night, but they had the best time skating and holding onto one another trying not to fall. After skating and dinner at one of her favorite French restaurants, they walked to see the big Christmas tree in Fanuiel Hall. That’s where Derek told Alicia that he wanted her to be his forever and he got down on one knee, asking her to marry him. Everyone on the street cheered for them and the evening was topped off by a champagne celebration and FaceTiming family. Alicia said it was the best night of her life and she could relive those memories over and over again. Well done, Derek!!

For their engagement session, we met up at Bald Rock. Since they are both from up north, they wanted to showcase the beautiful mountain views we have here in the South. We couldn’t have asked for a prettier day! Alicia and Derek, I loved getting to know you more and can’t wait to meet the rest of your families next September. Just be prepared to have all of them want to move down to Greenville after the wedding! :)
Alicia had one more outfit that she wanted to use. They almost decided against another change, but I’m so glad we went with it! Look how amazing they look!
