I met Candes and Steve for the first time ON their wedding day! That can sometimes feel a little overwhelming for couples (and myself!) when there’s no establishing relationship, but these two were so warm and welcoming. It felt like we were old friends!
They also decided to go with the non-traditional route as they both got ready in the same house. When I first arrived, I asked Candes if she had seen Steve yet. She said “oh yeah, he just came up to give me a kiss!” I love that they wanted to spend as much time as possible together on their special day.
Since their children were the only members of the wedding party, we decided to devote a LOT of time for couple’s portraits instead of bridal party. I told them I wouldn’t keep them too long at sunset, but they said that they see their family and friends all the time and the photos are what they really wanted out of the day. Can I get an amen!? I had such a great time photographing these two at Barn at Poplar Springs and laughing through the prompts I gave them. It was truly the perfect day.
Candes and Steve, thank you for your trust and kindness throughout your wedding journey. It was such a joy being your photographer and hope you enjoy these highlights from the day.
Candes, you are absolutely stunning and your ring is breathtaking too!
This was my first wedding at the Barn at Poplar Springs Farm and it is GORGEOUS. I loved the white draping that softened the wood interior.
Oh my goodness! This is definitely one of my new favorites!
Ok, or maybe THIS one is my favorite! The glowy sunset was perfect for portraits that evening!
