I’m a hopeless romantic at heart and I love hearing every couple’s proposal story. Like most guys, Kurt wanted his proposal to be a surprise, so he planned a weekend getaway for him and Haley before she had to start back with school. They drove up to a little bed and breakfast in Tyron and arrived just before their dinner reservations, which actually worked out perfectly with his plan. They dropped their bags off and just before leaving for the restaurant, he dropped to one knee too. After crying happy tears, exclaiming a happy “yes!”, and celebrating with champagne, Haley and Kurt continued on to their dinner. To further the evening of surprises, the only other couple in the restaurant offered to pay for their dinner as a way of saying congratulations, a kind gesture that Haley and Kurt plan to pay forward one day when they see another happily engaged couple out on the town.

I knew Haley from high school (she’s another fellow GHS cheerleader!) and just based on our first meeting, I can tell that Kurt is the perfect match for her. They are both calm, relaxed, and so kind. I can’t wait for their wedding this April.
