What a perfect way to end 2013! Meg and Mike’s wedding at Biltmore was a dream come true for them (and for me!).

When I was still fresh out of college, I assisted with a wedding at Biltmore and from then on I envisioned the day that I would be able to shoot a wedding on my own there. Honestly, I think I jumped out of my chair and did a happy dance when Meg contacted me about her Christmas wedding at Biltmore’s Champagne Cellar. Not only was this wedding absolutely breathtaking, but Meg and Mike are two kind-hearted, gracious people who are obviously head over heels in love. I couldn’t have imagined a better way to cap off the year.

I am reminded with every wedding the huge honor it is to be asked to share in this personal and momentous occassion in each couple’s lives. Thank you Meg and Mike for allowing me to be a part of such a beautiful day. Best wishes and cheers to 2014!

Heading over to the grounds for more photos… did I mention it rained cats and dogs all day? The weather always likes to keep me on my toes. ;)

Back in the Champagne Cellar, the staff at Biltmore had flipped the ceremony into a beautiful tablescape for dining.

Since it was raining so hard when we went to the grounds after the ceremony, we took a little more time after lunch for portraits. First, we headed to the Inn at Biltmore which was decorated in it’s finest for the Christmas season.

The rain had briefly stopped as we drove up to the Estates and I thought we were going to make it. Unfortunately, right when we got to the top of the stairs it started back up again. Like I said, the weather keeps me on my toes, and luckily I had my trusty umbrellas on hand (and my handsome hubby to assist!). Meg and Mike were such good sports about getting wet, and I think the results of our efforts were totally worth it!

The more I look at these next two, the more I LOVE them. This was completely unplanned, but the shape of the umbrellas with Meg and Mike’s arms forms a heart. So cute, right?!
