Welcome!

The New JSP

Filed in: Personal

The day is finally here! I’m pleased to welcome you to the new and improved

Jennifer Stuart Photography.

My goal for this rebranding was to better define my style, myself, and the heart behind JSP. My last rebranding was done five years ago, and a lot has changed for me in that time! I got engaged, planned a wedding, got married, went through a rough pregnancy, and we were blessed with a beautiful baby girl. All of these big life moments have not only changed my mind and my heart, but also how I approach my business. After being a bride myself and experiencing all the stress and emotions that come with that role, I wanted to start providing my couples even more information to help make their wedding planning a smooth and enjoyable process.

Our wedding day was everything I had dreamed of, and our photographer Amy Arrington captured it in the most perfect way. It took me two years to design and order my wedding album, but it’s done and I love it. Sure, it’s a big investment, and no, I don’t look at it every day. BUT there are happy times when you want to sit down and relive all the emotions from your wedding, and there are also tough days when you need a reminder of where your story began. This beautiful heirloom album showcases the most important part of our story, and I can’t wait to show it to our children one day. Providing my clients with a tangible pieces like this has become a mission for my brand.

The further away you get from these moments, the more you are going to cherish them.

Having Evelyn also changed my perspective. As the saying goes, the days are long but the years are short. Becoming new parents is not for the faint of heart, and we had a hard time adjusting to not sleeping during those first six months of her life. Now she’s almost 2.5 years old, and every day I look at how she’s grown and changed. Where did my baby go and who is this little girl in front of me!? Being a mother has taught me that time passes so fast, and the further away you get from these special life moments, the more you are going to cherish them. Your photos should NOT sit on a computer or USB drive forever. They should be enjoyed every day on your walls, in prints, and in an album.

Now, let’s talk about the brand! Going through a redesign is not just picking a pretty font for your logo. It involves a lot of soul searching, reflection, and thought on what you want people to see, to feel, and to experience when viewing your brand. We started by coming up with keywords to describe my photos: classic, bright, timeless, creative; words to describe my business ethic: grounded, personal, and professional; and words to describe myself (which were pulled from client reviews): warm, sweet-spirited, and welcoming. And that’s exactly what I wanted: a site that would not only beautifully showcase the portfolio but give you a warm and welcoming glimpse into what the JSP experience is like. My designer, Ravyn, at Three Fifteen Design did just that.

The new logo may appear simple, but Ravyn gave me exactly what I wanted. A brand that was classic and that would stand the test of time, just like your wedding photos.

The fern came from one of my inspiration board photos, which Ravyn turned into a custom watercolor piece. I love how it reinforces the organic nature of my photography and adds a softer touch to the brand. You’ll see it used throughout the site as well as in my new packaging. Y’all know I LOVE pretty packaging, so I have another blog post coming on that soon once everything arrives.

The brand statement reinforces everything I talked about above: These Moments are Our Legacy. The wedding passes in a matter of hours, but the day that you become husband and wife is the day that you begin your legacy together. Cherish and honor those moments.

These Moments are Our Legacy.

Before I send y’all off to explore the site, I want to thank you all so much for your continued support. The “likes”, comments, shares, and reposts are always appreciated! I’ve had the pleasure of seeing past JSP couples at new weddings and catch up with how married life is going.  I’ve hugged moms and chatted with dads from past weddings too, and it makes my heart so full knowing how big the JSP family has grown! Each and every one of you hold a special place in my heart, and I’m forever thankful for the love you bring into my life.

Now, go grab cup of coffee or tea and explore the new brand! I have waited for this day for a long time, and I look forward to hearing what you all think of everything!
