Jessica and Justin have known each other since sixth grade, but they didn’t really connect until a double date during their senior year in high school. While both of them were shy towards each other at first, she said by the end of the date, they both didn’t want it to end. They stayed together through college and made the long drive to see each other as often as possible. Even though they went to different schools, Jessica said that just made their relationship even stronger.
Six years later, Justin said Jessica was hinting at a proposal by talking about her friends getting engaged and having her nails done. He knew she wanted it to be a surprise though! So when they were at the Grove Park Inn a couple weeks after their anniversary, Justin popped the question. He said her first response was that he nails weren’t done (I totally feel you there, Jess!) It was at that point that he knew it was a true surprise. Their friends and family joined to celebrate, and will do the same again next September when these two say “I do!”
Their Charleston engagement session was so much fun, and I loved spending time with these two searching for the best gates, window boxes, and doorways. I could spend hours and hours photographing this lovely city, and this gorgeous couple made it even better. Enjoy some of my favorites from this beautiful day.
