At the beginning of the year, I hit a big milestone for JSP: I photographed my 100th wedding. I am still not remiss on how important each wedding is though. I have grown more humbled by every year I’m in business and grateful for each couple that invites me into their lives. Being a wedding photographer has given me the unique opportunity to see all the behind-the-scenes, be a part of intimate moments that no one else can, and capture every emotion involved.
I have witnessed 100 couples making a commitment to give their lives to one another. I’m estimating that I’ve met somewhere around 1000 total bridesmaids and groomsmen who were chosen to stand by their side…I’ve even seen a few furry friends who made it into the wedding! I’ve captured dozens of Daddys tear up when seeing their little girl as a bride, and Mothers holding on tight to their sons during their dance at the reception. I have fluffed every white dress, adjusted veils, and pinned more boutonnieres than I can count. I’ve laughed and made jokes with the wedding party, and wiped my own tears away during touching toasts. I have prayed for each of my couples’ weddings and marriages to be beautiful.
The wedding photos I have the privilege to take are the first pieces of family history for each newlywed couple. These photos will be admired as one of the happiest days in your lives by your children, grandchildren, and so on. So, I want to say to all of my past 100 clients, thank you for letting me be a part of your history. And to all of my future couples, I cannot wait to capture yours. Here’s to the next 100!
Follow along for more of my life, recent work, and everything in between.
