When Ali and I first met, she told me all about her ideas for an English garden wedding. Her family comes from England and her grandmother always had beautiful gardens, so the theme carried a sentimental value. The event would take place at Viewpoint at Buckhorn Creek, a place with amazing landscaping, flowers, and trees, and an equally stunning mountain view. As with any outdoor event, I was nervous about Ali and Abe’s wedding because in the week leading up to it, the weather forecast did not look promising. We started with 90% chance of rain, and as the week progressed, the percentages were all over the place! When the day arrived, thankfully all the prayers were answered, and they had a beautiful outdoor ceremony under the giant oak tree just as they had envisioned.
Ali and Abe, it has been such a joy getting to know you and capturing your love. I hope you ALWAYS laugh hard and love big! It’s an English tradition for the engagement ring to be a sapphire instead of diamond, and I love how Abe’s ring matches hers. This pin was Ali’s grandfather’s and passed to Abe on their wedding day. Such a special gift!Ali’s grandmother had such a sweet presence.
Time for their First Look! I love the one with Abe reaching out to Ali…he was SO excited to see his bride!Ali and Abe showed me some of their swing dancing moves at our engagement session together, so I couldn’t wait for their first dance. It did not disappoint! Ali’s dress was the perfect style for twirlin too.
Ali’s maternal grandmother is in her nineties, and she has cross-stitched each married couple a special gift. I used to cross-stitch many years ago, so I was amazed with her talent and dexterity. The piece was absolutely beautiful and I know Ali and Abe will cherish it.
Ali’s family has a tradition of dancing to New York, New York at weddings, so it was a fitting last song. Their guests all circled up, while she and Abe gave everyone a final dance show.
