Kayla and Thomas had the picture perfect wedding day (trust me, this post is VERY photo heavy!). Furman’s Daniel Chapel never disappoints for beautiful photos. As the church was decorated with lush pink garden roses and greenery, Kayla’s mom told me it was everything her little girl had dreamed of. I have to say her dream wedding was absolutely stunning.
Now that I’m a mother to a daughter, I see weddings in a whole new light. I envision helping Evy into her white dress, watching her walk down the aisle one day, seeing her dance with my husband at the reception, and sending her off with a husband to start a life and family on her own. I know that we have a long while before that happens, but it makes me emotional just thinking about it. After Kayla and Thomas made their departure, I caught a moment with her Mom and Dad. Kayla is their only child and her mom told me to cherish every moment because the years go by so fast. We hugged and I wiped away tears of my own that day. I hope it was a special day for everyone involved, because it certainly was for me.
It was such a pleasure working with this couple and their families. Enjoy my (many) favorites from their wedding!
This flower girl was the sweetest! And that floral crown was perfection.
As the wedding party and family completed the recessional, we stole a few moments away for portraits in front of the church. This is my new favorite time for photos!
This was hilarious! After cutting the cake, Thomas picked up a piece to eat, and Kayla had to instruct him that he’s supposed to feed her. Guess he hasn’t paid attention to the cake cutting at other weddings!
Since we didn’t have a First Look together, I wanted to make sure we made time for extra portraits. So, once the reception got going, we went outside to the Cherrydale House. In less than 15 minutes, we captured such a variety! Even if you do have a First Look, I highly recommend sneaking away from the reception and doing this. It also gives you a moment to just enjoy each other on your wedding day!
