On the day that Emily and Chip got married, I heard several people talking about rain being a sign of good luck. I had been keeping an eye on the weather all week hoping that the forecast would change, but the luck wasn’t on that side of things. I arrived at the Westin Poinsett that day to meet up with Emily and her girls. Everyone was excited about the events to come that day, and Emily was calm as a cucumber. She even told me that she loved the type of weather we were having: chilly with steady rain showers. Now that’s a positive outlook, right?
We were able to use the lobby of the Poinsett Hotel for the girls’ photos and it couldn’t have fit their style any better. Sequin beaded gowns, fur stoles, and Emily’s gorgeous lace bridal gown worked beautifully with the 1920s look of this historic Greenville hotel. Since she and Chip decided not to see each other before their twilight ceremony, we had to use the chapel for their wedding party and romantic portraits. Thankfully, Westminster is absolutely gorgeous! Their reception at the Huguenot Loft was amazing, and the dance floor was packed all night. At some point, the rain even stopped, which allowed for us to have an epic send-off outside with confetti cannons! So, even though it did rain early on, I’d say it still gave us a lot of luck throughout the day.
Emily and Chip, I hope that luck continues to bless your marriage for many years to come! Thank you for having me share this day with you, and I hope you enjoy some of my favorites!
I just love a Daddy/Daughter First look!!I used an extra light for most of the portraits, but did get some bridals of Emily in the beautiful window light. Isn’t she stunning!?
This dessert display was SO inviting and I can honestly tell you, every single thing tasted amazing. Yes, I tried them all!Emily and Chip both went to Clemson, and they got to kick off their wedding celebration by going to the National Championship a week before too! Their reception wouldn’t have been complete without a visit from the Tiger!Lots of Tiger alumni at this wedding!!
