It was the summer of 2006 when my sister was planning her wedding. She had heard about a fabulous cake designer in the area called Couture Cakes, so we all went to meet with her at her home. Susan, the cake artist, was warm, inviting, and oh-so talented with sugar. She took the time to help my sister customize her dream wedding cake and even came up with a unique groom’s cake idea too: a giant “Honey-Do” list for Chris. It was just perfect for them.

Not long after my sister’s wedding, Susan branched out of baking cakes in her home and got a beautiful storefront off of Woodruff Road. As a fellow small business owner, it has been amazing watching how fast her brand has grown. Couture Cakes is still one of my favorite bakeries in town and I highly recommend them to you all (especially the Pink Lemonade cupcakes!).
