Like most couples in this technologically-driven era, Jordan and Ashley met online. Ashley said that while they have very different personalities, it ended up being a perfect match. She describes Jordan as very calm, patient, and reserved, and she is the opposite. She admires that he keeps her level headed and that they can continue to push each other to grow. It’s true what they say…opposites do attract!
It was easy to choose their locations for the engagement session- Falls Park is where he proposed and they attend Grace Church. I noticed that the skies had turned black when they were changing outfits, but my weather apps said rain wasn’t expected for at least an hour. Well, about 15 minutes later and had just walked down to the proposal spot. I felt a few drops but we got what we needed there. We had turned to walk back up the rocks and the bottom opened up. It started pouring and we were all the way down in the falls! Thankfully we laughed it off as we walked as fast as we could back up to our cars. It was definitely a session I’ll never forget!
I can’t help but think that day was a metaphor for marriage: sometimes it helps if you laugh through the unexpected rain. Ashley and Jordan, I’m so grateful to be your photographer and can’t wait to be a part of your wedding in January!
