Kate and Phillip met when they were both graduate assistants at George Washington University in DC. She said they shared a tiny windowless office, so they got to know each other very quickly! They bonded over being the only Southerners amongst their coworkers, and pretty soon a first date was planned.
Four years later, Kate said she secretly knew when Phillip was going to propose. She was opening their mail and accidentally found a letter with a diamond certificate from a jeweler in Mississippi, where he’s from! She did her best to hide her knowledge and let Phillip continue with his surprise proposal during a “staycation” in DC. Even though she knew what was happening, it was the sweetest day and proposal.
We walked around downtown Greenville to showcase where their wedding will take place. Kate said her grandfather stayed at the Westin a lot when he was younger, so we definitely wanted to incorporate that. Phillip just loved the topography of the park, especially the bridge, so that was high on our list too. We had the best time talking and exploring my favorite spots and getting them comfortable with the camera.
Kate and Phillip, thank you for your trust and I can’t wait for next May! Enjoy some of my favorites from this downtown Greenville engagement!
