Huguenot Loft Wedding | GraceAnne & Paul

Filed in: Weddings

GraceAnne and Paul’s Huguenot Loft wedding was overflowing with bright color and happiness, just like the newlyweds! The floral design by Willow Florals was so beautiful and vibrant. It was like she gathered a field of wildflowers and created a garden party for the reception. Traditional color palettes are gorgeous too, but this was just so fun and truly matched the couple’s personality.

Speaking of their personality, I have to share a story to brag on their kindness a little more. Their wedding day fell on the same day as my daughter’s dance recital, and I was supposed to begin shooting at the exact same time that it started. Needless to say, it broke my heart that I wouldn’t be able to see my daughter dance, but it’s the nature of this job…sometimes I have to miss important things.

Well, at GraceAnne’s bridal session, we all got to talking about her dancing and performing as she grew up. I told them about the circumstances with Evy’s recital, and they were SO kind to help me figure out a way to see her recital. Her sweet mama said that me being there for Evy was more important and they all 100% agreed I could go. It brought me to tears! So, I arrived to shoot details earlier in the day, then left for an hour to race across town to see Evy dance, drove back downtown and picked up where we left off with timing.

Being their photographer was a gift and a reminder to always show grace and understanding. I’m so thankful to have couples and families like this, who are so giving. GraceAnne and Paul, I hope we can continue to cross paths in the future because your joy is absolutely contagious. Enjoy some of my favorites from their happy day.

GraceAnne’s grandmother couldn’t make it to the wedding, so her mother gave her Chanel No. 5 perfume in her honor. It was her signature scent and a way to remember her grandmother that day.

It started sprinkling rain right before we headed over to the Huguenot. But then the downpour started and we had to switch their First Look locations inside. Thankfully it all cleared up quickly and we resumed with portraits outside afterwards!
