Is it weird that I want to print and hang these portraits in my own home?? This day was so beautiful and poignant, I could find peace and joy looking at their photos every day.

Leigh and Chris were ahead of the times with planning…I’m looking at your Covid. They decided to have a small intimate wedding well before the pandemic began. At dinner, they welcomed their few dozen guests and offered an explanation for why they chose a small wedding. Chris said as he grew up, he remembered their parents enjoying time with extended family and being with his aunts, uncles and cousins. As the years passed, it didn’t happen as often, so Chris and Leigh wanted to give that back to their parents as a gift. A whole weekend to enjoy time with their siblings, the whole family, to reminisce, laugh, eat, drink, and love on one another. I can’t think of a more perfect weekend that I’m sure we ALL needed after such a tough year.

My favorite part of this day was when Leigh and Chris snuck out of dinner to take their sunset portraits. Before rejoining their guests, we stopped on the walkway so they could say their personal vows to one another. I couldn’t hear their words, but watching these emotional moments unfold and being able to capture that is such a GIFT. Leigh and Chris, thank you so much for inviting me to be a part of this special day.
