Katie had meticulously planned every gorgeous detail, flower, and printed piece for their wedding with such thought and care. In fact, she just recently “opened the doors” to her own event planning business: Katie Williams Events! (Brides, you should check her out–she is so thorough and has amazing style!) Everything for the day was beautiful and just as she imagined: like a lush garden party. I could not stop gushing over the florals and her dress was like a princess. However, as much as we plan, sometimes we encounter an unexpected turn of events, and in this case it was rain. The day started with perfect weather, but right before the ceremony began the storm clouds opened up. We had hoped to take outdoor portraits at the Poinsett, but it was still coming down when we got there. Luckily, they have a small awning at the front of the hotel that we were able to use while guests enjoyed cocktail hour inside. And luck continued to be on side later on, because the rain finally stopped and we were able to go back up to the rooftop of the Poinsett for those iconic bride and groom portraits.
Katie and Nick, I have loved being your photographer AND becoming your friend! I hope these portraits remind you of all the joy and love that surrounded you on your wedding day.
Nick proposed on the day they closed on their new home together. Not only did he have a beautiful engagement ring to give Katie, but he also had this adorable keyfob engraved with “Marry Me”. How sweet is that?! I’m so glad we had it on the wedding day for a couple detail photos.Such a gorgeous group of girls, and I hope a lot of future JSP brides in there! ;) Y’all call me when you get your pretty rings!Katie’s Dad snuck away from the guys so he could watch his daughter during portraits. He looked so happy and proud!Special thanks to the team of amazing vendors who help create this beautiful wedding:
