Ever since my college study abroad program in Italy, I have been fascinated with different cultures and their traditions. When Jeanne inquired and told me that they were having two ceremonies to honor both their cultures, I was all in. I have always wanted to experience an Indian wedding and it was truly such a delight to be a part of theirs. I even had joyful tears during the baraat (the dancing procession to present the groom) because it was just so beautiful. Sometimes it really hits me hard at how lucky I am to experience so many amazing days of love.
Jeanne and Shil had a First Look where they shared private vows in their traditional Western wedding attire. They walked up to their ceremony at Greer City Hall, then they both changed into their Eastern clothing for the Hindu ceremony. A lot of their guests changed clothing too! The Hindu ceremony was completely new to me, and truth be told, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but Jeanne and Shil gave me a cheat sheet that helped educate me on all the different parts. I loved it all and hope to have the chance to do this again.
Jeanne and Shil, thank you for your trust and sharing your beautiful cultures with me! Enjoy some of my favorites from this multicultural wedding!
