Katie and JD are huge fans of the theatre arts, so when the time came to propose JD wanted to plan something memorable. Even though we were all in lockdown for Covid earlier this year, he managed to get in touch with the higher-ups at the Peace Center and ask for permission to execute his proposal plan. Finally, he got a reply and they were all in! JD told Katie that they had a private backstage tour planned, and even had a (fake) confirmation email printed out that the Peace Center drafted for them. They went on the “tour” and when they were on stage, JD got down on one knee to ask Katie to be his wife. I can’t imagine a better engagement story than that for these two!
We decided to incorporate downtown Greenville and the area around the Peace Center into their engagement portraits. Their wedding reception will also be at the Huguenot, so it was a nice way to tie in their whole wedding story here. I had the best time with this couple and love how natural they were in front of the camera. Letting your guards down and allowing yourself to be goofy, silly, sweet, and loving will absolutely get you the best photo results! Take a look though some of my favorites to see!
