Anna first met Alex in 6th grade band class, and her first memory of him was when he sat behind her in 7th grade math and said mean things to her. However, his side of the story says that he was immediately drawn to her competitive nature and confidence. (Oh, middle school love!) Their paths continued to cross over the years and after many prayers, she realized that Alex was the one God was leading her to all along.

Anna and Alex have been remodeling the family’s old farmhouse. Alex proposed there, we photographed Anna’s bridals there, and everyone gathered there get ready for the wedding. This house holds so many memories for their family, and I know they are going to create many more in the years to come.

There were so many emotional moments throughout this day, and it was such an honor to be able to capture them. Anna and Alex, thank you for trusting me with such a special day in your lives. Enjoy some of my favorites!

Anna wears her grandmother’s ring as her engagement ring, and had the diamond that Alex proposed with made into a stunning solitaire necklace.In each wedding I have to privilege to photograph, there are always moments when I’m holding back tears behind my camera. This was one of those moments, as Anna wrapped a locket of her grandparents’ photos are her bouquet.
I have heard about feet washing ceremonies, but have never had the chance to photograph them. It was the sweetest thing to watch and has officially become my new favorite unity ceremony.
Since Anna and Alex live within walking distance to the church, we stopped back by there to take their portraits before heading to the reception. Of course, he had to carry his bride over the threshold!
